Wow what an episode.
It’s easy to get complacent with great comedies – last week I didn’t even write a review because, even though it was a great episode, I didn’t really know what to add to proceedings.
But then, tonight, there was a fair old bit to respond to – not least Penelope swearing like a trooper.
Marcia Warren really is stealing the show this series.
Then, of course, there was that ending – Ash and Violet finally slept together?
There’s going to be repercussions about that next week I feel…
And then, just when it looked like we were building up to a big, gay wedding finale – Stuart [Derek Jacobi] and Freddie [Sir Ian Mckellen] are OVER!
Surely that can’t be?
They have to get back together next week… don’t they?
Not sure how it would work otherwise….
McKellen and Jacobi were absolutely made for these roles and how much fun they seem to be having really is infectious.
There was certainly some interesting reactions to the show on Twitter this evening:
@robpw2 They should have had someone else knowing people would think of Violet in the bed. Freddie would have been a great choice. #Vicious

Penelope in #Vicious is absolutely brilliant. To be fair, this series has been better than the last.

‘Vicious’ is the most cringemakingly unfunny sitcom I’ve ever seen. An embarrassment to all concerned #Vicious #itv

@Vicious hope Freddie and Stuart get back together and I hope they do get married. Cannot wait for next week, I am in shock. #Vicious

It was certainly another hysterical episode and there’s lots to be resolved next week…
